Music for Comfort

This photo is from one of my music wellness workshops at Coconut Yoga in Chicago back in 2019.

Ever since I began playing music for a living I’ve wanted to affect people’s lives in a positive way. Music has been my longest committed relationship. It’s always been there for me. It’s given me a home, fed me and it’s allowed me to meet amazing people. It’s a gift I was given and one that must be shared. My gratitude to the musicians that have moved me through the years is impossible to measure. When I started the Yoguitar project the center of my mission was to make music to help people feel just a little bit better.

Since beginning this journey 10 years ago, I’ve been humbled by feedback ranging from people getting comfort during addiction recovery, to processing childhood trauma. I never imagined it could go that deep. Their stories inspired me and gave me proof that music composed with intention for people was a powerful force.

I want to keep going. Keep writing and recording music that can bring even a small amount of comfort in daily life. Live Yoguitar events are especially powerful because I can feel the direct energy exchange. This can all sound a little whippy dippy, but trust me, it’s sincere. Music is energy. Life is energy. We are all interacting with each other’s energy. When it’s aligned it is even more powerful. I love being able to explore this as the years go forward and keep trying to spread as much positive energy I can while I visit this planet.
